With roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Gua Sha Brushing has long been used to support tension relief, circulation and hair vitality - particularly during postpartum recovery and age-related thinning.
Scalp Gua Sha focuses on deliberate, targeted stimulation. In traditional practice, brushing was believed to engage meridian pathways associated with tension release.
The reflexology needles create rhythmic activation across the scalp and fascia, stimulating acupressure points and supporting circulation with consistent use. Over time, this helps encourage scalp vitality as part of a long-term care routine.
Wellness Practice: For wellness and self-care purposes only and not medical advice. Not a medical device. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Made from solid American walnutwood, and hand carved in our artisans’ traditional brush silhouette. Ergonomically weighted, the natural timber hand-feel offers warmth, balance and comfort during use.
Each brush features traditional, genuine 24K gold-plated Gua Sha needles, pinned by hand in Taiwan, preserving traditional techniques refined over generations.
As a mark of authenticity, the 24K gold plating will naturally fade over time, revealing the steel beneath without affecting performance.
Gold is a softer metal, and gradual changes in appearance are expected with consistent use. This does not affect the performance, durability or quality of the brush.
This brush delivers a firm level of stimulation, designed for those who enjoy deeper, more noticeable scalp activation.
The full-length, 24K gold-plated reflexology needles are polished with curved tips to provide balanced, consistent pressure to help release scalp tension and encourage relaxation. Within our range, the Large Infrared & Walnutwood edition offers the deepest, most traditional experience.

"I am loving it so far. I like the quality and the materials used to make this brush. It’s been a short time since I have got it but I use it diligently and find it very soothing and comforting"
"This brush is solid and its such a great feel on the scalp"
"I have the larger one for home and this one for travel. No words to describe the feeling of the massage as well as I can literally tell that my hair is getting thicker with daily use."
"The brush itself is great but a bit annoyed with the quality after using the brush a few times the gold plated needles fall off."
"This feels really good on my scalp. It's too soon to notice any results yet, but it's very relaxing, especially right before bed."
"This feels so good!! I am thrilled with my purchase."
"Obsessed"
"Not as sharp as i thought would be. Has the round balls at the ends."
"This brush is really really nice. Makes my scalp fell amazing and is very relaxing to brush my hair and get a scalp massage at the end of the day. However, I wish I would have ordered the regular sized brush for daily use."
"It's great! Detangles well, feels very nice & tingly on my scalp, & doesn't make my hair (wavy, thick) look frizzy, as some more dense brushes, tend to do."
Individual experiences vary. Many users notice improvements in scalp comfort and overall hair appearance within the first few months of consistent use.
This Gua Sha brush is designed to support scalp stimulation and circulation as part of a regular routine. For best long-term results, use daily and pair with our Tetrapeptide & Ginseng Hair & Scalp Serum.
This is our firmest Gua Sha brush with a firm level of scalp stimulation, and is best suited to users who are comfortable with noticeable scalp stimulation or who plan to use it regularly as part of a ritual.
If you are new to scalp reflexology tools or prefer a gentler sensation, one of our lighter brushes may be more suitable. To find your ideal brush, take our personalized Gua Sha Brush Quiz.
Yes. This brush is designed for daily use, and regular, consistent brushing is encouraged. Most users find 5–10 minutes per session sufficient.
Use gentle, even pressure and slow strokes. Longer or more forceful sessions do not necessarily lead to better results and may cause scalp sensitivity.
Daily use supports the best results over time, and the ongoing scalp stimulation helps to establish a steady ritual rather than occasional or intensive sessions.
The Large Infrared & Walnutwood edition provides a traditional, firm level of stimulation with deeper, more deliberate pressure than our other gua sha brushes.
It is designed for users who enjoy a grounding sensation and want a more substantial scalp massage experience.
Yes. The longer needles are designed to reach the scalp more easily through thicker, curly or textured hair. When used correctly, the brush should not pull hair.
For added comfort and smoother glide—especially with dense or textured hair, we recommend applying the Tetrapeptide And Ginseng Hair & Scalp Serum first and begin with light pressure and slow, controlled strokes to avoid tugging.
Yes. Many users apply a lightweight scalp serum before brushing to improve glide and comfort.
Our Tetrapeptide And Ginseng Hair & Scalp Serum is designed to absorb quickly and complement regular brush use without weighing the hair down.
The small hole in the rubber cushion is an intentional airflow pinhole, not a missing needle.
It allows air to move through the cushion so the rubber can maintain elasticity and even pressure during use. This pinhole is created by hand as part of traditional brushmaking techniques.
Every component of this brush is handcrafted by traditional brushmakers using techniques refined over generations.
This brush is carved from a single piece of beech timber, shaped and finished by hand rather than assembled from multiple components.
Because each handle must be individually carved, balanced, and finished from one piece of timber, the process is time-intensive and limits how many brushes can be made. This approach prioritises weight, ergonomics and durability, but it also naturally caps total production capacity.
These constraints, combined with careful material selection and traditional methods, define the Large Infrared & Walnutwood edition and are the reason it is produced in smaller quantities and priced accordingly.
