Soothing Anxiety & Migraine Relief

The needles scrape over reflexology points to stimulate cranial acupressure points and scalp fascia.

Your Gua Sha Brush

1

24K Gold-Plated Gua Sha Needles

This is the signature traditional element used in Gua Sha brushing that our artists insist on never losing. Gold is considered a medicinal metal that continually activates all the Meridien & Qi points in the head through the scalp, which is why it needs to be of utmost purity. We have kept this element out of respect for our artists and their heritage. Hypoallergenic, naturally cooling and beautiful.

2

Relaxing Scalp Stimulation

The unique gua sha needles with curved polished tip provide scalp & follicle stimulation.

Handcrafted Rubber Pad

Hand blended, cut and pinned. Made with premium natural rubber for perfect pressure control & resilience.

4

Central Airflow Hole

This hand-pierced pinhole in the center of the rubber brush pad (not a missing needle) allows airflow for measured elasticity & pressure control while Gua Sha brushing.

5

Reflexology Needles

With regular usage, the beautiful 24K gold-plating fades uniquely over time to reveal the underlying steel reflexology needles.

Further Information

For best results, sweep across the scalp twice daily while brushing clean, dry hair. Individual results may vary, but many users start seeing new baby hairs sprout after 3-4 months of daily use.
Apply gentle to medium pressure depending on preference. Sweep from the front of the hairline backwards in a pulling motion while brushing hair, ensuring to make contact with the scalp during hair brushing to activate massage function.

Safety

Keep pins away from eye area, and do not swing at or strike with this brush.
Avoid leaving heavy objects on top of brush, or resting brush with pins facing downwards.

Caring For Your Brush

Daily or weekly gentle cleaning will help maintain your Gua Sha Brush for years to come.
To clean, dampen the provided Snow Fox cleaning clothand gently rub the pins. Avoid using strong chemicals that may deteriorate the gold plating.
Do not rinse with water during cleaning to avoid water entering the pinhole.

OPTIONAL
For a deeper clean, pair with the Gua Sha Brush Cleaning Kit:

Rake Brush (Dislodges Stray Hairs)
Gently hook and lift any stray hairs from the needles and brush pad. Take care not to scrape too hard against the Gua Sha needles to avoid damage.

Bristle Brush (Removes Dust From Brush Pad)
Use to softly brush the rubber base, removing dirt and dust. To disinfect, lightly spritz them with cleaning alcohol (max. 70%) before brushing.

What is the brush handle made of?

  • Gua Sha Brush & Massager: Ghost Edition is made from dyed maple wood

How do I return this brush?

Due to hygiene reasons and the handmade production, we cannot offer returns or exchanges on this item.

If there are defects, please reach out to us and we'd be happy to assist.

How long will it take to get results?

Individual results may vary, but many users start seeing new baby hairs sprout after 3-4 months of daily use.

For best results, use the brush to stimulate the scalp while using the Tetrapeptide And Ginseng Hair & Scalp Serum.

Can I use this brush everyday?

Yes! It’s actually best used daily, as it can really repair and nourish dry strands throughout the day.
Pair with the Tetrapeptide & Ginseng Hair and Scalp Serum for best results over time.

Can I use the brush on wet hair?

We suggest only brushing clean, dry hair (a bit of moisture is okay) so as not to affect the gold plating over time. This also helps to avoid water getting in the brush via the central airflow pinhole.

Why is there a little hole in the middle of my brush?

It may look strange, but the hole in the brush cushion (not a missing pin) is a pinhole that allows air to flow through (and allows tension for the rubber to press downwards). If air is trapped inside the brush, it can't maintain elasticity during brushing.

The pinhole is made by our artists burning a pin through the rubber by hand and is part of how old traditional handmade brushes are created.

How do I clean this brush?

Dampen the provided Snow Fox cleaning cloth and gently rub the pins. Avoid using strong chemicals that may deteriorate the gold plating.
Do not rinse with water during cleaning to avoid water entering the pinhole.

Will the pins lose their lustre?

Over time, the 24K gold will slowly wear off and be absorbed with use. This is normal and means that you're using it properly (and enough).

This doesn't affect product use or quality at all. We use 24K gold for its softness, health benefits and purity.

Meet The Artisans

The Secret Art of Hair

Pause Play

This a beautiful story about Craft, History & Ancient Roots.
You can help decide how it ends.

Our Elderly Artists

When we first met our Master Artists, they were already planning to retire due to minimal orders and no apprentices.
They are the last of their generation, and this is why we can only produce in small, artisanal batches. Inevitably, our artists will retire in the next few years.

Costs of Preservation

Gold prices in the past decade have been at all time highs, making traditional Gua Sha needles extremely costly to produce. Our artists however, insist on keeping the authenticity & quality of their work, and would rather retire than give in to demands for cheaper metal alloy alternatives.

(We've asked).

The Difference Between Gua Sha Needles & Metal Needles

These Gua Sha needles are a lot more than meets the eye. They are still smoothed and polished by being run through river stones (see accompanying image), before being plated in gold and pinned by hand - where bent or scratched pins are removed one by one.

Cultural Legacy

Cheap, mass industrialization offshore has decimated the demand for authentic, handcrafted reflexology tools in Taiwan.
Ethically made and assembled by hand, your purchase goes towards ensuring the livelihood of our brush makers and the hopes of attracting the next generation to preserve a cultural art form and legacy.

Update From Our Artists

Our Founder recently visited our traditional artisans in Taiwan to share your feedback. Your support directly impacts the livelihoods of our artisans, and helps them to continue the cultural legacy of The Secret Art of Hair.
Thank you for helping to preserve Ancient Traditions.
